In the pictures that we see here is a lovely very large piece of transferware. This is a platter dating back to the late 19th century. It was made by John Ridgeway and Company. The pattern of the platter is called Oriental. The piece measures 17"x 13 1/2". The color is a delightful burgundy. On the back is the stamp that is clearly visible in the pictures. The piece is in great condition. There are some areas that are missing varnish, but for the most part for the age and use of the piece it looks fantastic. On the top there is an area that is rough and looks almost chipped, but we have concluded that it is just a manufacturers defect. This is a great platter, don't pass it up for your collection! xx385
