Large Piece of SEAFOAM Bonfire Beach Sea Glass

A large and fairly smooth piece of SEAFOAM beach picked BONFIRE sea glass, found on a remote beach in the Pacific Northwest.

Bonfire glass is one of my favorite kinds of seaglass-- it comes about when glass objects end up in trash fires or campfires and subsequently ends up in the sea. Sometimes different colors will melt together, resulting in two-, three- or even four-colored pieces. In addition, you'll also find sand, small pebbles and other inclusions INSIDE the glass, and there may be small holes and bubbles where the molten glass literally "boiled." Sometimes the pieces of bonfire glass I find on the beach are very smooth on the outside, at other times they are quite rough and "lumpy." No two are ever quite alike. 

This piece is frosted "all-over" and and has a nicely rounded shape; however, it also has the typical bumpiness found in bonfire glass, along with some small dark inclusions. There is also a small shiny "pocket" on one side, where a bubble has broken. Measures almost 1 3/8" (35mm) long by 7/8" (22mm) across and is 9/16" (14mm) thick at thickest. Nice piece!
