Large Ship Engine Room Thermometer - Rare



You are invited to bid on a Polished Nickel-Plated, Brass, Marine Thermometer, used to measure temp of engine liquids on large ships.

Measures 11 inches tall, 1 1/2 inches at the base, 3/4 inch tube that holds the thermometer ($100 bill used for size comparison… not included)

C & F scale    0 to 220 degrees F, -20 to 100 degrees C

On the back side of thermometer says: Eintauchtiefe 45 mm Mittlere Fadentemperatur +25 C N 16B glas 

Made in Germany.

Appears to be old but the finish is almost flawless… overall in excellent condition (This is a quality item and a good example of German engineering and manufacturing)… a nice addition for the nautical history collector.
