If this wasn't marked, I would think that it was spun at home homespun, but it's handspun factory work. Very rare that it is signed. It is signed "all linen welf" and "U" and 40 (which stands for how many yards this used to be) The signature reminds me of an 18thC one of the Charlestown bleachery I saw a long time ago, but I have no way of knowing which handlooming factory this came from in the early 19th late 18thC. I can tell you that the original selvages are both present and this measures 17"Wide X THREE yards long. This has never been used or washed, but I'm confident any storage marks you see will come out in it's first handwashing.
