Howdy,

Up for sale today is a great (in my mind) condition Leather cairns N6A Sam Houston fire helmet.  As you can see, the helmet is black.  It has triple trim markings ( eight), has the flip-down Bourke eye shields, as well as a pair of goggles ( not pictured).  As you may notice in some of the pictures, this helmet has a "Bronx Bend" in it.   The Chicago Fire Department helmet front that is pictured is NOT included in the sale.  As for size... I wear a 7 1/2 size hat, and this helmet fits me.  Helmet will also include a rubber band, which can hold flashlight, door wedges, and other random bits.

Please note!!!!!   I am NOT certified to inspect gear, or approve it for wear and use.  YOU, the BUYER are responsible for finding out if this helmet is within your department regulations.  YOU are responsible for what you do with this helmet.  Fire Fighting is naturally a dangerous activity.  if YOU buy this helmet, YOU are responsible.  SELLER ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY, and makes NO CLAIM about if this helmet is serviceable.  YOU are responsible for determining if it is serviceable.

I have this helmet listed elsewhere for two hundred and thirty, including shipping, so I reserve the right to end this listing early if my asking price is met elsewhere.  I work for an ambulance company, so I can not ship every day.  I am able to ship on Saturdays, and Wednesdays.  I will ship on the first possible day after your payment arrives

The lucky winning bidder will also receive a Chicago Fire Department baseball hat, and a Chicago Fire Department light-weight jacket.  Item will be shipped from Manchester, NH.

There is a period of inactivity on my account due to my deployment, however if you look at my previous feedback you will see it is all positive feedback.



On Nov-06-09 at 03:30:45 PST, seller added the following information:

As the newest picture shows, helmet has a ratchet style band for adjustment.  date of MFG appears to be 6/02.  I am unable to make out what the tag says the size is, I can make out " ADJ" but not what it says after that.

There is a SLIGHT dent, or bubble, in the grey liner, it is behind the suspension, so I believe it doesnt affect the helmet, doesnt interfere with my ability to wear the helmet, and I have been told by multiple people within my department that the helmet is still serviceable.

Please note though, this is just opinion, none of these people are certified by Cairns to make such a ruling.
