I designed each Saddleback Leather piece to be built with thick, tough to sew leather with clean unfinished edges. They aren’t perfect and that’s what makes them perfect. Our craftsmen use the toughest thread around. We refuse to use zippers, snaps or anything that’ll break; therefore, the 100 year warranty.

The number of stitches per linear inch, the thickness of thread for aesthetics, the thickness of leather, the slippage of the lining, the radius of the corners, the dimensions to make it most useful, number of pockets, positioning of pockets to keep balance when full, where to stitch, where not to. A lot of thought went into these designs to make them the way they are. They were extensively used by myself, my wife and a friend or two and then evaluated. They were changed over and over again to be exactly what I wanted for myself. I truly believe that these are the most well thought out wallets you’ll ever know.

Are the animals tortured before they are slaughtered?
Absolutely not! With some pigs we do use waterboarding and sensory deprivation techniques previous to slaughtering them, but the cows do not require any special handling.
Sales Tax
Texas buyers please note that those awful mean and evil bureaucrats in your state charge you 8.125% sales tax when you buy one of these bags just because Saddleback Leather Co. is based in Texas. I really don't think it's fair. Actually, I used to sell at times, the bidding would go up to $700. You're getting quite a deal even with tax.
International Shipments
Import duties, taxes and charges are NOT INCLUDED in the item price or shipping and handling charges. These fees come from your own government and are the buyer’s responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs might be before bidding/purchase. Each country is different and there is no way we could know what that exact tax charge for you would be. These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick up your purchase. Do not confuse them with additional shipping charges. We won’t mark items as a "gift". That’s illegal.

Saddleback Leather products are made to last a lifetime or two, but they're not bear or bullet or semi truck proof. The warranty covers normal wear and tear and does not cover misuse or abuse.
By the way, the final picture below is of my dog, Blue, jumping into lake Michoacán down in Mexico. Back in my single days, when it was just Blue and me and we were just getting Saddleback started, I traded of of Blue’s stud fee puppies for a hundred tacos. I did that twice (full story with pictures on website) He was a great dog and I miss him a lot.
