This auction is for one 5x7 photo of Lew Alcindor from his rookie season (1969) in the NBA with the Milwaukee Bucks - before he changed his name to Kareem Abdul Jabbar.

Shortly after he was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in 1969, Alcindor made an autograph signing appearance that summer at the opening of the first Kohl's Department Store on 124th and North Avenue in Brookfield, Wisconsin. My mother took the kids to wait in line to get an autographed photo of Alcindor. That is the photo pictured here that I am now auctioning off. It is an original, signed 5x7 photo.

As you can see in the photo, it was signed in red ink, but it is slightly faded. It is not personalized.

Lew Alcindor autographs are very rare, and if you'd like, I'd be happy to send the photo to an independent verification service (that myself and highest bidder both agree upon).

I will send the photo to the winner via UPS insured next day air. Please let me know if you have any questions.

I have no idea where to start the bidding, but it is my understanding that a Lew Alcindor autograph is very rare, so I'm opening at $50.
