This is a large deep bowl and underplate made by Wileman, later to become Shelley China Co. Both pieces are decorated with borders of moss green daisies and ferns and gilt rims. The bowl is 3 & 1/4" deep by 5 & 7/8" across. The plate is 9" across. The base of the bowl fits perfectly into the well of the plate, leading me to believe it was made as a liner or underplate. The gold rim is worn on both pieces and there is wear to the pattern on the plate at the tops of the ribs. Both pieces are free of chips, cracks or damage. Each piece has the Wileman mark, #5902 and the bowl has Rd. 2762799, the British registration mark. Please check my other listings for more vintage porcelain, antiques, memorabilia and ephemera.
