Life Fitness Elliptical Exercise Machine

Up for auction now is a Life Fitness model 9100 Elliptical Cross-Trainer.  This piece of equipment is used, but it is still in great physical condition.  There is a small crack on the very front, down at the bottom, in the plastic, but this is a merely cosmetic issue (it doesn't actually affect anything functional).  Aside from this though, the rest of the unit is in great shape.  All the buttons on the control panel look perfect and are totally readable, as is the LED display.  Please refer to the pictures provided below for more cosmetic detail.

We tested this unit, but we did run into some troubles.  When I first got on and began peddling, the display came on saying 'Press Enter to begin'.  This was good, but immediately after was when the problems started.  I pressed enter, and the display came up with 'Enter Weight' with a starting weight of 150lbs.  I pressed the down arrow, and the number did go down, but when I pressed the up arrow, the display just beeped, as though I had pressed an incorrect key.  I tried pressing the other buttons, but they were all registering as different keys (actually, they were showing up as numbers on the screen).  After getting a little fed up with the unit, I started pressing all over the display, and I found that places that aren't even marked as being buttons, were beeping like they were buttons.  I called Life Fitness technical support, and according to their representative, something has fried inside the display unit, so the display will need to be replaced.  We were still able to start the 'Quick Workout' program, so you can see how much time you've been on, and how fast you're going, but I could not find a way to control the tension.  Also, in pressing random buttons, somehow I got into some kind of program manager, and accidentally switched everything to metric.  Of course, now I can't figure out how to get back into this, so it is now measuring in metric units.

Because of the problem with the display, we must sell this unit as-is.  We do still guarantee it to be as described and pictured, and to function as stated.
