193 + [2] pages, bound, with frontispiece, in midnight blue cloth with gilt lettering on spine. Rear hinge is sturdy; however, front hinge is cracked & front cover pulling away with spine cloth. The textblock is square and the pages are clean. 2 inch crack along front joint crease, starting at head; 3 inch crack to front joint crease, with cloth pulling away, starting at foot. Moderate wear to corners. Slight edgewear. Ex-library.
Affixed to front endpage is a letter, in the hand of Davis and on stationary from the "Journal of the American Medical Association," dated "Sept. 15th 1883" and signed "N. S. Davis."
