Sailor has introduced New MAKIE KING OF PEN which is called Milky WAY SILVER COSMOS Fountain pen. This makie has a deep theme behind of his background. It is kind of related space and our future. Some people even some scientist believes that our future in the cosmos. One of the things we will mean the most to us and will make the future different from the past is the coming of a space-centered society. Let’s focus on the makie, you can see top to bottom it has a SILVER wave which our past and future. As well as our life and space, it started from the past and still expanding in the future. It has ending but when it will be we can not figure out it.   

This is a very special 21kt King of Pen Fountain Pen. If you carefully see the Makie work on the pen it is fabulous.　This Makie work has been hand painted and the precious stones are handcrafted by the famous Japanese makie artist. This technique requires intense high technology and should be done meticulously by the artists.

This makie design has a great cultural story of Japanese origin which I would like to share with all my friends.

You can see the Silver or Golden sparkling broad stripes in the crossing across the middle path of the stones. In Japanese culture, the famous festival named Tanabata, which is a festival of love and happiness. Tanabata, a festival of star, which means evening of the 7^th.

It has been said that the two Lovers Cowherd star (Altair) and Weaver star (Vegar) had been separated by the Milky Way River and during the Tanabata, these two stars meet.

The makie design on this pen also has the silver path which is spiral, (please see the 1^st picture) resembling the Milky Way River separating the stars apart. This makes the eternal lovers bond stronger and forever.. It has been believed that these starts meet only once in a year at the 7^th of the lunar month of lunisolar calendar. According to the Lunisolar calendar, the tanbata festival date varies. The Japanese always celebrates in the month of July. You can actually see the Tanbata this year on 26^th August. You can witness the beauty of the meeting of the stars.

The main connection of this design to Tanabata festival is that, during this festival, many people wishes for better hand writing by writing wishes on strips of paper, and ties these strips on pole in backyard or front of the house. There is also a custom of making special ink and pen for writing purpose. This pen also has been specially made for this festival. Sailor only makes this pen on special occasion of festival such as Tanbata and special ordered made production pen.
