What it is: A collection of stories by Herman (Pat) Herst, Jr. about the stamp market and how the prices of stamps have been affected by various events. The author offers advice on collecting stamps including good advice such as "There is no substitute for knowledge," "Beware of pitfalls," "Cash in on Fads," and "Don't be a slave to the catalog." First published in 1962 this is a fifth edition and is the first revised edition published by Linn's (Amos Press).
Free Media Mail shipping for US addresses. Please note that Media Mail is SLOW. I have had a package take over two weeks to go 150 miles. These books weigh well over one pound so they can go First Class. The alternative is Priority since Parcel Post is also as slow as a snail stuck in CA glue (almost).
Upgrade to Priority Mail for $6.00 and I will include 25 US stamps as a "Thank You" for buying from me. Media mail can not include anythijng other than the book due to PO regulations.
Problems??
I value my feedback rating, just as I am sure you value yours, so if there is a question/problem/concern either before, or after, a purchase-- send me an e-mail and let's discuss it!
PAYMENT:
Speaking of payment, please pay me within five days of your purchase--you want your items, I want my money and eBay gets theirs faster than the speed of light (well, almost faster.)
DELIVERY:
I try to get everything out in the mail either the day of, or the day after, a cleared payment is received, but can have delays due to my work schedule (I'm officially retired, but help my son at his "brick and mortar" store once in a while).
Four additional things--
(1) The mailing and shipping costs are quite reasonable compared to others that I have seen.
(2) For stamp related items I almost always use REAL STAMPS for postage when I ship it to you. They may be old, or new, but they are stamps!
(3) In almost all instances I will provide a delivery confirmation number for you.
(4) In some cases the new postal rates allow lower costs than estimated shipping costs that I have used. In those situations I WILL refund the excess charges. I keep a small handling fee--about 15 cents for US shipments. This covers the cost of the envelopes, packaging, tape AND the gas money since many of these packages must be driven to the PO due to the weight and stamps on the packages. Chalk that up to anthrax and 9/11 concerns--of course no terrorist would ever use a stolen credit card to print on-line postage! Right, of course they wouldn't.
If for some reason you are NOT happy with the item, let's talk. I'm too old and my back won't bend over backwards anymore, but I will try my best to fix any problems--within reason!
I will combine shipping on my items with the exception of some larger packages that will be marked as NOT eligible for such a combination. If there is a question on this, e-mail me for information/confirmation of combined shipping eligibility.
