You are bidding on a used 14170 Lionel Swing Ride that I used my layout.  The base was repainted in white to match my other rides.  It operates properly.  An on-off switch starts the ride turning and once on, it  automatically starts and stops.  A second control turns on music and adjusts volume.  When the music is not on the motor makes a whirring sound as it starts up.  At first I thought this was a problem but it has been that way for the two years I have operated this ride.  Also, the controller (see picture) was left too close to a heat source and the back melted.  So I replaced the original on-off slide switch with a toggle swtich.  If you like this ride and have room for it this is a good operators piece.  E mail me with any question.  Phil
