For your consideration is an Excellant legendary Lionel 226 locomotive, 2-6-4 paired with a heavy Post War Whisting Tender.  The 226 was made between 1938 and 1941 and after the two big Hudson's is considered to be the best of the die cast Lionel Pre-War locomotives.  Includes fire box glow, operating coupler on the tender, headlight and significant detail on both the engine and the tender.  Please note that the tender body is showing signs of warping or zinc rot.  The engine shopws no signs of metal fatigue is missing the right marker jewel.  Tender appears to have the rare back-up light.  Otherwise the paint is in remarkable condition, no dents, large ships or scapes, no broken pieces that I can detect.  Needs a good cleaning, you see dust from display and lubrication but I think this is a wonderful example. Check the pictures carefully before bidding. A wonderful pice to add to your collection. We accept only PayPal and ship to the lower 48 states via UPS Ground.  Shipping to PO Boxes and Third Party Shipping Departments is problematical and we accept no responsibility.  We always leave feedback and pride ourselves on shipping very quickly.  Payment is due within 5 Days close of auction, this is a strict rule unless you make prior arrangements with us. It is not OK to withhold payment for 10 days in an attempt to get reduced shipping. We do combine shipping when possible. A thought about shipping charges, the cost is not merely determined by what UPS or the USPS charges, packing peanuts, bubble wrap, tape, gas and when called for the occasional box all have to be factored into the equation.  Please keep that in mind when you assess shipping charges.
