About Me

This is an original 8 x 10 inch painting. It was done in honor of my maternal grandmother who lost her battle with Breast Cancer.  I used professional grade liquitex acrylics on a canvas panel. It's signed and dated(2009) on the back. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. Feel free to contact me with questions. Thanks for looking.

About This Piece:

One of the most influential people in my life was my maternal grandmother. While my mom encouraged academics she fueled my desire to be an artist. When mom bought books she bought art supplies. She taught me how to knit and sew and would encourage me to draw and paint.

In 1986 after a courageous battle with Breast Cancer we lost Liza and I became an advocate for Breast Cancer Awareness.

In the years since I have done whatever I could to promote awareness through art in honor of Liza and countless others who battle this disease.

About the Artist:

Although she has drawn most of her life artist Betty Refour only began to paint while recovering from a back injury as a form of therapy. Considering herself primarily self taught she credits her eye for color to her study of Fashion Design. Her work can be found in private collections around the world.
