The Watermark
Series pieces were inspired by this
ombre shaded fabric designed by Nancy
Crow with a watermark pattern. Ranging
from pale yellow on one of the selvedge
edges to red violet at the other, I
was able to play with value & color.
It's a good thing I bought a whole bolt.
This is the first in the series and
is composed similarly to a traditional
log cabin quilt block.

| The
improvisational collage style of composing
allows me the freedom to explore and
discover unexpected evolutions of the
content and meaning behind the metaphorical
imagery.
While
the metaphoric images have specific
meaning to me, they are also enigmatic
in that the viewer can bring their own
personal experience to their interpretation.
A
full-time studio artist, instructor
and lecturer since 1994, Linda’s art
has been exhibited and collected internationally
