This is a laptop mouse I bought brand new a little while ago. It works extremely well, and the USB receiver is so small it is barely noticeable. There is light scratching on the bottom, just from being moved around a surface. There is no effect on the performance, however; this still works like it did the day I bought it. I just don't have the need for it anymore, since I have made the transition to a desktop.
