Many years ago, I lived in Edmonton Alberta. I used to go to Hole's greenhouse and listen to Lois Hole talk to her customers about gardening. Little did I know that 20 years later I would own my own nursery and find myself talking to customers about Lois Hole and spreading her gospel. These books are easy to read and I must admit, I developed my public garden based on this book. These are some of the best resources available for Zone 5 and colder. I know, I live in Zone 3. The descriptions are terrific, straight forward and easy to read. She gives a ton of info on planting partners, soil requirments, sun needs, great tips etc.
