This auction is for an antique sterling silver sugar or spice caster made in London, England by the silversmith William Henry Skinner in 1897-98. It is 6 1/4" tall, 2 1/2" in diameter at the widest and 113.4 grams. It is hallmarked on both pieces (base and top) with the lion passant (sterling guarantee), leopard's head (for London) and the date mark for 1897-98. The maker's mark is S. over W.H. inside of a circle for William Henry Skinner. CONDITION: Very good used estate condition. There are no major dings, dents, or scratches. There appears to be some minor, small marks around the widest part but nothing that would show up in pictures. The lid fits nice and snug.
