This is an original Longaberger mail basket dated 1994. The leather strap appears to be for decorative, though useable, purposes since a metal toothed hanger is affixed to the back.  The basket measures 91/2" x 91/2" x 51/2" and is in excellent condition with no breaks, stains or other damage.
