Lot (10) Magnecraft 5vdc SPST DIP relays .25 a w/diode

Only THIRTEEN lots of TEN each remaining!

We just bought out a long time Phoenix surplus electronics distributor. All of these parts are
absolutely "as new", most are aerospace quality, and most are leading traditional American
brands. The bulk of the items are unused production overstock. Offered items are not ROHS
compatible or compliant.

Reed relays offer extreme reliability, low noise and minimum contact bounce, are nonsparking,
and have low operating currents. Offered here are one of the finest traditional Magnecraft brands
of reed relays. Magnecraft W172DIP114 is a 14-pin DIP sized relay with a 5 volt coil and a
SPST normally open reed contact arrangement.

This item does not seem to be listed in the current Magnecraft catalog and may not be current
production. Our testing says this is a five volt dc relay with a 500 Ohm coil.

There IS an internal protecting diode, cathode to pin two and anode to pin six.

The coil resistance is 500 Ohms, meaning a ten milliampere operating current. The contacts may be
limited to switching ten watts maximum, but can block 60 volts or switch a quarter of an amp.

Pins 2 and 6 ( counting the missing pins on a standard 14 pin DIP clounterclockwise from the top )
are the coil. Pins 1 and 7 are the switching contact. There is apparently a jumper between pins 1 and 14.

Note that reed relays should not be placed closer than a half an inch from one another
or anywhere where they can be influenced by strong magnetic fields.

Standard DIP package footprint with pins on 0.1 inch centers. Package is 3/8 of an inch high
and thus taller than other DIP relays or standard integrated circuits. Black epoxy package.

Guaranteed usable. Received by us in very clean and as new condition as loose distributor stock.
May include very minor storage cosmetics. Some pins may occasionally need minor adjustment.
