William Hunter, a Scottish-born doctor, founded what would become Caswell-Massey in 1752, the same year as Benjamin Franklin's shocking kite incident. This old-world apothecary has been brimming with traditional aromatic fragrances, grooming products, soaps and body essentials ever since.

In the early years, Caswell-Massey customers included George Washington, John Adams, Dolley Madison, and later to George Armstrong Custer, Annie Oakley, Sarah Bernhardt, and Edgar Allen Poe. From the flagship store on Manhattan's Lexington Avenue, Caswell-Massey has attracted musicians like Cole Porter and George Gershwin, and film stars John Barrymore, Errol Flynn, Judy Garland, Katharine Hepburn, Carole Lombard, and Greta Garbo. Lauren Bacall chose the Manhattan store for her first meeting with Humphrey Bogart prior to the filming of "To Have and Have Not" in 1945.

Comes in its original packaging as pictured, brand new, unopened as one would expect for bar soap. BAR SOAP DOES OCCASIONALLY BREAK IN TRANSIT. FedEx dumps packages (even the ones marked fragile) into bins that are mechanically turned upside down and dumped several times. Sometimes these boxes get hit with heavier boxes and cause a few bars to break.

Due to eBay's latest unpopular policy change, the only form of payment that we can OFFER to accept is PAYPAL - Ships out in the next 2 BUSINESS** days in most cases. International and USA.

** BUSINESS days are Monday through Friday (FEDERAL US holidays are NOT business days!). So a Thursday payment could be shipped as late as Tuesday. Don't buy this without contacting us first if this is a problem.

Shipping Details

Multiple shipping options are available for this item. For more detail, please see the shipping tab and select the shipping option that is most convenient for you. One lot weighs 34 pounds. The system will automatically combine shipping for multiple lots.

Once a shipping label is printed an email is automatically sent out with your FedEx tracking information or USPS delivery confirmation number. If for some reason you do not get the email, go to "my ebay" and click "won" and then click the pull down menu to the right of the sale and click "view order details". You will see a clickable link with tracking info there. Please do not email us for tracking information unless the aforementioned information cannot be found.

International Shipments -

We offer Priority Mail International (no tracking, 6-10 day average from the date of mailing) or USPS Express Mail International (full tracking, 3-5 day average from the date of mailing). We can get up to 5 lots in a flat rate box. Do not order more than 5 lots and choose flat rate box shipping as it will only slow the process down while we rebill you.

All shipping time estimations are from the USPS website, and depend on the US Postal Service as well as your country's postal service doing their job. AS OF LATE, MANY PACKAGES HAVE BEEN GETTING HUNG UP IN CUSTOMS, and the delivery times are taking longer than expected. Please understand that is beyond our control. We will mail this with 2 US business days of payment. We cannot control the speed or what happens to it after we mail it. If you would rather pay less for shipping and use First Class International for your item, then we will be glad to do that as long as you assume responsibility for the possible loss, theft, late or mis-delivery of the item should the unlikely chance that it happen. By bidding on the item you agree to those terms.
