In this auction, you have the chance to bid on a GREAT lot of ten (10) issues of Marvel Comics' Sub-Mariner comics, ranging from February 1968-August 1973.
In general, the issues in this lot are in nice shape, with still supple covers showing some reflectivity, generally light edge wear and corner blunting. They all have strong spines with little to no feathering, light rolling and backs that show toning and the occasional area of faint foxing. The interiors are intact but do have the expected toning.
Please see below for any major blemishes.
#100 - February 1968's Tales to Astonish with Hulk has a few edge dings and evidence of display or archiving.
#16 - August 1969's "The Sea that Time Forgot!" has two shallow creases on the back.
#29 - September 1970's "Hercules, Prince of Power!" has a few tiny chips along the top edge of the back cover, shows light foxing and some staple discoloration migration.
#31 - November 1970's "Sub-Mariner" vs. Sting-Ray vs. Triton!" has more wrinkling, a 2 x 1/2" area of discoloration on the back and a few moisture spots.
#32- December 1970's "LLYRA!" has a shallow fol on the bottom left corner, some moisture spotting and foxing on the back and a small spot of surface wear on the front.
#37 - May 1971's "And one Must Die!" has three small soiled areas on the front cover (1/4", 1/8" and 1/16" - the 1/16" caused light paper loss) and a few small edge chips on the back. The interior is VERY lightly toned!
#42 - March 1974's Super-Heroes, featuring The Hulk and Sub-Mariner has no remarkable blemishes.
#43 - November 1971's "Mind-Quake!" has two 1/6" areas of soiling, increased spine wear (1/2" split at top and 1/4" at bottom). The back has one 1/16" spot of soiling.
#45 - January 1972's "Tiger Shark!" has a few tiny chips on the bottom corner (front and back) plus two 1/8" tears along the outer back edge.
#64 - August 1973's "Virago!" has a shallow fold on the bottom corner and an edge dind on the interior long edge.
All in all, this NICE lot of Sub-Mariner issues remain SHARP and would make a GREAT addition to any Marvel or vintage comic book collection!
