Low Cut Vintage 60's ESTEVEZ Lace Cocktail Dress S/M

Fabulous, daringly sexy and low cut early 1960s Luis Estevez for Grenelle dress. It's magnificent. Chantilly lace with large roses overlay is attached on the front of the dress and on the back falls from the shoulders to a flowing short lace train. The low cut bodice is boned, with a side metal zipper under the left arm, and the left shoulder fastens with hooks and eyes. Empire waist with bow detail on the center. The dress itself is a form-fitting sheath of black crepe (either silk or rayon, I didn't test it). This dress is quite daring for its day and undoubtedly caused quite a stir. He was known for truly knowing and understanding a woman's body, and how best to show it to its best advantage for sex appeal, and yet at the same time tastefully. This stunning dress is iconic Estevez.

Condition: This piece does have some minor flaws, none of which are apparent or obtrusive when worn, and do not at all detract from the beauty of this piece - and I'm not just saying that. 1. The interior of the bodice has some iron shine (? never seen that before on the interior). 2. On the left armhole, there is some wear to the scalloped edges of the lace. A little on the right as well, but I'm showing you the worst below, on the left side. 3. There's a small hole on the front center in the lace, which is *really* difficult to see and I had to put the pen down near it just so I could be sure to shoot it, even with my bright photo lights. 4. Near the small hole on the attached front overlay is a small patch to the crepe, which can only be seen on the interior side of the crepe (in other words, if you turn it inside out). 5. The last photo is of the lace on the back of the free-flowing train, near the hem. There are 5-6 small breaks in the lace - difficult to impossible to see when worn as the lace is full and gathered. And there you have it! sounds like a lot, really isn't though. I just want to be thorough so you're completely thrilled with your Estevez :)
