Luber Art Nouveau Tiles BOOK von Schwarz by Konig

 This is a very beautiful and informative book about some of the most highly prized tiles on the planet, the tiles of Carl Sigmund Luber, artistic director for Johann von Schwarz from 1896 to 1906. It was published in 2006.  This is a brand new, sealed in plastic, book.   These German tiles are from the art nouveau era and often depict women in long flowing gowns with windswept hair, among other motifs.  It was written by Wolfgang Konig and Rudolf Weichsellbaum,  with a forward by Suzanne Perrault.  The book has 258 pages and they are filled with photos of tiles and other examples of Luber's work.  The pages are divided with  English and German text, and describe the life of Luber while at von Schwarz and
afterward.  The tiles were only manufactured until 1906 and are therefore extremely rare.  Every now and then we see one come up for auction on the internet, but not very often.  This book measures approximately 8 1/2" x 12" and the photos are beautifully reproduced.  It is simply jam-packed with historical data from the families and photos.  Shipping will be calculated to your zip code and insurance is 2.40 - now called a "handling fee" on ebay. .  The book weighs almost four pounds.
