Lucets were used by the Vikings (circa 800 to 1100 AD) for making bodice and armor lacings as well as other cords for various uses. The product made using the lucet is 3 to 4 times the size and strength of the original thread used.

We make our lucets out of various hardwoods from around the world.  Each lucet is hand rubbed with oil and finished with a hand buffed paste wax, this helps to protect the wood and prolong the life of your lucet.  The majority of our wood is reclaimed.  Your lucet may be oak, alder, birch, or another hardwood.

The lucet comes with a small booklet that includes basic directions.   We also provide an online pictorial for those just getting started.

All of our lucets are natural color.  We use no paints, dyes, or stains.
