Lynn Bogue Hunt Grouse Old painting/carving original

Here you have a carving/painting of a grouse by "Lynn Bogue Hunt", one of the greatest outdoor sporting illustrators of the early 20th century. His works grace the covers of many early sporting magazines and poster advertising covers. Here you have a grouse in flight. This example is in one of the rarest forms by Mr. Hunt, as it is relief carved along with being painted. He did very few carvings at all. Most of his work was painting. The entire piece is about 9.25" by 9.25". The Grouse is quite large being about 6.25" long from tip of bill to tip of tail. Wing tip to wing tip is about 5 3/8". The grouse is exquisitly painted and relief carved. Each feather the wings, head and tail all have contour. You can see that quite well in the extra photos in my store. I have seen several paintings by Mr. Hunt that have this monotone background color. I absolutely love this piece. It is signed L.B.H lower right.
