ITEM: The Rook and the Raven have found rare treasure: a tinted, post 1910 “Chineegraph” from San Francisco photographer, Mervyn Silberstein. It is approximately 7” X 9” and is mounted in its original painted wood frame. Silberstein’s © is printed in the photo, along with the title “The Proud Father”. The Chinese words are expressions of good will and good luck. A paper explanatory label is pasted to the back side. We have not taken anything apart – it is all original to the period. A rare piece of San Francisco’s Chinatown history. Our last photo shows a magazine advertisement (which we found on the web) for this very photo.
PAYMENT: US bidders use PayPal or money order. INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS USE PAY PAL ONLY. We accept no personal checks.
POSTAGE: Estimated $8.00 air mail in the US plus about $3 postal insurance. We ship daily. Your old Chinatown photo will be sent the day your payment is received – guaranteed.
