BOXED TIN WIND UP EMERGENCY HELICOPTER WITH TURNING ACTION

MADE IN JAPAN

We have been lucky enough to come across a rare boxed tin/metal wind up helicopter which was "Made in Japan".

The helicopter is in good condition considering its age, probably circa 1960/1970. It has a few scratches on it but the transfers are still all intact and bright. One side of the helicopter has the remnants of perhaps the price tag.The key is attached to the helicopter.  The rotor blades are made of yellow hard plastic and are detachable to the actual helicopter.  When you wind up the helicopter it does not fly, but the blades turn around and the wheels move which makes it move along on the floor.

The picture on the box depicts a real helicopter without wheels, but the tin toy has two wheels which turn when the key is turned. The helicopter has the wording "PD Police" on it.  It also has the wording "T.T Made in Japan" on the top of the helicopter near the back rotar. (We spent a longtime with a magnifying glass trying to find this, and now that we have found it, it was staring us in the face all the time). We have added a photo of this for you.

The  top part of the box has one small tear where something has poked through it near the "R" in Rescue, and the box is in a somewhat crinkled state.   The bottom of the box appears to have had a piece of sticky tape on it, and it has been pulled off.  Have a look at our pictures to get the correct description.  They say a picture says a thousand words.

It appears to have been in someones collection, and has been well looked after.
