DESCRIPTION

A stunning Maling lustre dish in the Dahlia pattern.

A bit of background.........

In 1926 Maling acquired the services of Lucien E Boullemier as a designer. Mr Boullemier brought a new panache to the factory and was prolific in his use of lustrous colours, lavish gilding and rich enamelling. Maling lustre wares from these times can easily stand comparison with that of more famous factories such as Wedgwood. By the mid-1930s, Mr Boullemier had built his 'dream team' of creative personnel. They included Norman Carling (a skilled modeller who brought a new three-dimensional aspect to Maling wares), Miss Theo Maling (a talented family member whose freehand designs included the popular 'Storm' pattern) and, to keep things in the family, Mr Boullemier's son - also named Lucien - who had developed his craft under the tutelage of Frederick Rhead at Wood & Sons.

CONDITION

In excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. There is some very fine overall crazing to the glaze, visible on close inspection only.

SIZE

The dish measures approx. 24.5cm (9.5") x 15cm (6") and 5cm (2") high.

MAKERS MARKS

Appropriately marked on the base.

Payment can be made by Paypal, Cheque or Postal Order in Pounds Sterling. If paying by cheque the item(s) will be despatched 5 clear working days from the date the cheque is banked.

Postage will be via Royal Mail 2nd Class Standard (1st Class Standard or Standard Parcels for heavier items) or Next Day Special Delivery. Royal Mail will pay compensation of up to £34 only for loss or damage with both their 1st and 2nd Class services. For items of more than £34 in value I recommend Next Day Special Delivery which offers compensation of up to £500 for loss or damage. Please note that Royal Mail do not offer compensation for damage to glass or ceramics on their Standard Parcels service. Please select the service required when paying. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS

Payment can be made by Paypal or Money Order/Bankers Draft in GB Pounds Sterling.

Shipping will be via Royal Mail Airmail. Royal Mail will pay compensation of up to GB£34 (approx US$68) only for loss or damage on this service. There is a weight limit of 2kg on this service. Where possible the items will be shipped in two or more parcels. If you require extra compensation please contact me before paying.

I always pack well with lots of bubble wrap, poly chips and a sturdy box. However, if an item is broken in transit I cannot be held responsible but I will assist in every way I can in making a claim for compensation where applicable.
