14 element, 12 group. 1-1/400” + T. Zoom focal lengths equal in resolution to prime lenses. Great for zooming from full body to head and shoulders without moving the camera or your subject. Equivalent to 48-97mm in 35mm format. An ideal focal range to avoid “nose bloom” or other distortion you would get with a normal or wider lens by moving in close. Excellent also for quick framing nature and architecture, bringing the subject closer and compressing perspective. For use with either the RZ camera (manual mode, set shutter speeds on lens, not camera) or the RB. Zoom ring is nicely designed ergonomically, rotating smoothly and positively with one finger and thumb. The focusing ring is an adjunct to the camera’s bellows focusing—a real bonus for fine focus. Aperture detents are positive, no play. Lens comes with front and rear caps, collapsible rubber lens hood and a tripod/lens mount to position the lens center of gravity over a tripod when mounting. 77mm filter size. The lens overall is in excellent shape with modest cosmetic flaws as specified below that do not affect function. The focusing and zooming rings are smooth and precise, the glass is clear and pristine, the aperture ring sets like new. Occasional nicks you run into with a black finished lens that has seen use. There are around six specs on the barrel and a few tiny burnish spots on the knurled rings. There is rub-through along the exposed outer rim edge at the taking end, which has been painted out, and a little visible wear/burring on the edge (both visible in upright photo). The inner ring surrounding the lens glass that takes filters, is super clean, as are the camera-mount end and the interior. The mount that secures the lens on a tripod (used so you don’t stress the female holes on the bottom of the camera with the combined weight of lens and camera) is in like new condition.
