This is a 12-fret 000-18VS with scalloped bracing, from the Martin Custom Shop.

Martin produced this guitar in "Vintage Style", largely with the appointments and bracing found on vintage instruments produced in 1930s, and it came through the Martin Custom Shop, which means it's one of a short run of this particular model, had closer production scrutiny than the average off-the-line instrument. It has a modern, i.e. adjustable, truss rod in the neck, an innovation now much favored by musicians (and luthiers).

There are no guitars like this one on eBay presently and there has not been in a while. This is a rare and unique guitar.

Martin Hardshell case in excellent condition is included.

Martin's list price for this instrument was $3816 when it was purchased new in November 2007.

Condition: It's in excellent condition, with a couple of very light mars on the back, and very faint pick tics in the finish of the upper bout top from normal use. It has not been played much.

Comments:  This instrument comes from the Martin Custom Shop, and is, indeed, very classy.  Sound is quite strong in bass and midrange, with a crisp and clear treble side.  Intonation is as sweet as we've ever heard, making it great for recording.  It seems ideal for finger-style, and has the punch we find useful in bluegrass and swing jamming.

The action on the instrument is still the factory setting. Measurements are:
 
Low E string at the 12th fret,  .119"
High E string at the 12th fret, .087"

Please understand that I am not a luthier and don't own the correct tools for precise measuring of the action, but these figures will be reasonably close.  As stated, the instrument retains the factory setting -- but can be adjusted by the buyer.
