The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Limited Edition Signature model JC-16KWS combines distinctive design and tonewoods with unique appointments. The rich, full tone of the jumbo cutaway shape is enhanced by SOLID tonewoods throughout; sapele back and sides for clarity and projection, Sitka spruce top for warmth. Martin’s patented "A-frame X" scalloped bracing enhances this unique voice. The genuine mahogany neck features standard 1-11/16th inch width and modified low oval profile for easy playing. But it’s the "blue on black" appointments that make this guitar stand out in a crowd. Black Boltaron® top and back bindings frame unique blue and black purfling on the top, back, and sides. The black Boltaron® endpiece is similarly framed. The soundhole rosette features an inlay of vibrant blue Paua shell, flanked by Style 45 inlay lines accentuated with blue fiber.

The black African ebony fingerboard also reflects the "blue on black" theme. Fretted with jumbo frets, it shines with position marker inlays of blue lapis "teardrops," each bordered with a thin band of pearl. Kenny Wayne Shepherd’s signature is inlaid between the 18th and 20th frets. The polished black African ebony headstock overlay highlights a contrasting silver foil Martin logo and Waverly® nickel-plated tuners with butterbean knobs. The black African ebony belly bridge is fitted with Style 42 black bridge pins with abalone dots. Both the NUT and Compensated SADDLE are crafted from GENUINE BONE.

Perhaps the most stunning visual element is the finish: the soundboard of the JC-16KWS is finished with translucent gloss blue lacquer, while the back and sides are finished with polished gloss black lacquer. A polished and beveled black pickguard protects the top. Martin’s Thinline® Gold Plus Natural II electronics are installed in each guitar for impressive sound enhancement.

The interior label on each instrument is personally signed by Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Martin Chairman and CEO C.F. Martin IV, and NUMBERED IN SEQUENCE....(114 of 198). A portion of the proceeds from sales of the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Limited Edition Signature model will be donated to Providence House, a Shreveport, Louisiana shelter and development program for homeless families with children.

PERSONAL NOTE ( Kenny Wayne Shepherd Limited Edition Signature model JC-16KWS):  Hi!.....A Great Opportunity Exists Here....an Opportunity that I Honestly Wish I Didn't Have to Provide. But I Do.....Being Unable to Work the Past 20+ Months (Medical Reasons) I have been Busy Selling Many Guitars, All From My Personal Collection. Guitars.... that I Have Been Collecting Myself During the Past 25+ Years, and Some that I Inherited from My Father. All of Which I Cherish, Never Dreaming that I Would Find Myself in a Position where I would Need to Sell ANY of them, Let alone the 38+ already Sacrificed during this Past Year and a Half, to Pay Bills!  The Core of My Collection has Always Been, and Remains my Martins. I Hold on to Each of These Like a Drowning Person would Hold onto a Life preserver...I really Do! So, Due to the Fact That I am Currently Experiencing a Tighter than Usual Financial 'Squeeze', I have NO Choice but to Once Again (Sacrificed 8 Already) Sell One from This Core....My Martins. Offered Here and Now is My One and ONLY Kenny Wayne Shepherd Limited Edition Signature model JC-16KWS... This One Hurts a Bit More than the Others...as It is So RARE (ONLY a Total of 198 Ever Made!) and is My Only One! However, This Problem is Going to Be Routine, as I am Getting Down to the Very Best of and Unique of My Martins...buy...That's Life these Days I'm Afraid!  Although Produced in 2001, She Remains in Excellent Condition. Besides Being a Writer and Producer of Original Music, I am an Avid Collector and Continue to Maintain an Acoustic Collection in Excess of 36 Guitars....Most of Which Have Had their Play-Time Limited to Studio Play. This Player However, Is One of the Few that Has Been Played During the Few Times I Have Played for the Public.....Always Transported and Stored Within her OHSCase (Included in this Auction). Her Structural  and 'Playability/Handling' Condition is an Absolute SOLID 10/10!  Because She Was Produced in the Spring of 2001....Having Enjoyed a Full 8+ Years of the Natural Maturing/Opening of Her SOLID ToneWoods.....In My Own and Other's Opinion, Her Tonal/Sound  Quality is No Less than a Definite 10+/10....'Better-Than-New'  Condition!!!  Cosmeticly, Although Still a Beauty in Posession of All Her Original Attributes/Features, She Does Have a Few Minor 'Battle Scars'...All of Which are Purely Cosmetic and have Very Minor Impact on her General Appearance and NO impact whatever upon Her Structural Integrity, Playability or Sound Quality. This Is One of the Guitars in My Collection of Which I am Not the Original Owner. During the Years of My ownership, Not One Additional Mark was Placed upon  Her and Those Allowed by her Previous Owner have remained Competely Stable and Have Not changed during the Years that I have had her. I will now Describe these Areas. Naturally, she has Her share of Surface Pickmarks on her Pickguard, the Usual Shirt Button Surface Finish Swirls on Her Back and the Often found Laquer Checking Limited to her Soundboard Finish. Also On her Top, is a Grain Separation Running from below the Bridge (at the Base End) to her End.....which Also Remains Absolutely Stable, and Nearly Invisable. On the 'Dip' of Her Cutaway there is an Area approx 1 1/4 inch long Scratch that appears to have been Laquered Over. Other than approx half a dozen Finish 'dings'...from the size of a Pin Head to a Pea, there is Nothing Else. Once again....All of these are Purely Cosmetic...and Very Minor with Minimal Cosmetic ONLY Impact...Most Visable Only when Viewed at Unusual Angles. I Have tried to Photo some of these areas...but am unable to produce a useable frame....I will be happy to email to anybody who asks...multiple pics of any or all of these areas as best as I can manage. I am not Attempting to 'Pump-her-Up'...to 'Inflate' or Otherwise 'Expand' upon her Attributes or to Minimize any Flaws or Marks in Order to Facilitate Her Sale or a Higher Price.... I NEVER Do This....Please Take a Moment and View the Comments Left by Many of the Kind Buyers of My Guitars.... in My 'Feedback'....You Will Find the Best Evidence of My Habitual Truthfulness Regarding My Descriptions of the Guitars I Offer for Sale Here on Ebay. While Not Seeking to Embellish Her Assets,  To Avoid Expounding upon Her REAL, HONEST and TRUE Features and Attributes would be Negligent....a 'Sin of Omission'.
