This lamp is meant to be mounted to a wall or ceiling with sturdy solid brass base. The arm is adjustable at 3 points and when stretched out it is about 40 inches!!!!!. I will guarantee that you cant find this anywhere online or in a store either. Almost all of my lamps and lighting are taken directly from shipping vessels not a cheap chinese made factory reproduction With all authentic nautical antiques there will always be minor wear and tarnishes but that is the reason they are more expensive. You want them to look like they came from an old ship. You can have this places anywhere in your kitchen, office, if your kids have bunk beds this would be excellent for the lower bed Being sold as is because you will have to have these converted by your local electrician for a small $20 fee usually.
