MASTER WALDEN AND HIS SLAVE PHIL WALDEN

THE SLAVE PHOTO IS A TINTYPE
CHECK OUT THE SLAVE NO SHOES
AND HAND ME DOWN OLD SUITE

These item are difficult to discribe.  I found a 12 x 10 tin box full of photos, written letters, newspaper articles etc. about
the Walden family which included marriages with Landers, Deans, and others.

The story seems to have its roots in England with an ongoing concern of money in England banks
belonging to the Walden Estate.

With my little research I have come to think that this Walden family possible comes from
John Walden one of the founders at Plymouth Rock.  Have not documented this yet but
have some strong indications.

Remember the story John was speaking to Priscilla about a man who wanted to
court her and Priscilla said, "Speak for yourself John".  The rest is history.

Years ago some folks tried to put together family history.  Included with these pictures are those letters.
Not included are literally dozens of photo of people with the name of Walden, Dean, and Lander.

From Virginia during the colonial days, to Lincoln Co. KY. to Hannibal MO.
This family has had a great impact.

If you are interested in any other of the old photos drop me an email.  I noticed one picture of  Walden Lander as a boy
with his brother. Then a sympathy card upon his passing as a man.

The Walden in the Photo that is up for Auction fought in the Mexican war of 1846.
There is a lot of info about him and England on the back of the photol

The tintype shows the slave with the original frame.  He took the family name.
Phil Walden
