MATCHED PAIR (2) OF COLLECTOR'S KURDISH SADDLE BAG (Khorjin) FACINGS, Northwest Persian tribal, 19th century. Approximate size of each bag face is: 1'-8" x 2'-2" (51 x 66 cm). Selling together as one lot, I have these truly tribal and rustic bag facings with GREAT wool and 100%, plant-derived, natural dyes (rich and saturated greens and blues), but they show age use and worn areas from being ethnographic utilitarian transport bags in the past. Interesting field design with "comb-like" motifs and elem panels with their large medallions in green and ivory. All wool construction with natural ivory wool warps and mixed wefts , some consisting of red wool and others natural ivory. Some original goat hair side cord over-castings. Sturdy, yet floppy handle in the hand. Recently hand hashed. Clean and collection ready. This pair is for the tribal or nomadic rug collector specialist who is not too concerned about condition but interested in the rare and esoteric.
