[PLOT SUMMARY]
DESCRIPTION:
666 had been out of print for years, but it's just been repressed by Level Plane. Nothing too fancy, just a black 6" platter, but Melt Banana are another one of my favorite bands EVER and I never had a chance to grab this record the first time that it was released. You get three songs from the Cell-Scape period, "Got The Head Back", "About", and "Neck On B1", each one an infectious blast of Melt Banana's cosmic hyperspeed no wave/grindcore/pop with tons of electronic noises swirling around and Agata's mindblowing raygun guitar sounds. Super frantic and catchy, "Get the Head Back" is the hookiest, a blazing pop blast delivered at mach speed. "About" moves from stuttering rhtyhms and percussive skrink riffs to a hip-hop style beat with noodling synthesizer. And "Neck on B1" is another highspeed assault of ambient noise, hip hop beats and robotic hardcore thrash that's over before you know it. The record comes in a full-color, glued pocket sleeve.
