Fusing new wave, power pop and booming reverb with infectious electro and dance elements, METRIC’s fourth album ‘Fantasies’ is set to become one of 2009’s most talked-about breakthrough albums!

After being leaked from a vinyl pressing plant in the US, METRIC’s track “Help I’m Alive” took over the airwaves! The single was on high rotation at TRIPLE J earlier this year. It was played on So You Think You Can Dance Australia and added to NOVA Launchpad nationally! The track tore up the charts in Canada, where it bumped off KINGS OF LEON as the #1 alternative track.

The band was founded by front woman Emily Haines (beloved by critics for her work as part of BROKEN SOCIAL SCENE and her solo effort EMILY HAINES & THE SOFT SKELETON) and guitarist Jimmy Shaw. The group also consists of Joshua Winstead on bass and Joules Scott Key on drums.
