The Minnesota Twins have called the Metrodome in Downtown Minneapolis home for 28 seasons. In April 2010, the Twins move outdoors into their brand new ballpark, Target Field, under the open skies...and rain, sleet and snow! The front of this METRODOME HOME SWEET DOME BUTTON has the beautiful outline of the actual Minneapolis skyline with a shadow drawing of the Metrodome enclosed. The Metrodome has hosted the 1985 All Star Game, 1987 World Series, 1991 World Series and numerous Minnesota Twins Playoff Games over the years. With Kirby Puckett, Kent Hrbek, Gary Gaetti, Torri Hunter, Bert Blyleven, Dan Gladden and countless other Minnesota baseball heroes playing hardball on this turf - the Metrodome will go down in history as a place where many MLB events have taken shape including Eddie Murray, Dave Winfield and Cal Ripken Jr's 3,000 career hits have taken place. A multi-purpose stadium with the teflon roof in downtown Minneapolis where thousands of baseball games have played themselves out before millions of fans. Stuck in the heart of many in the region is the assurance that a game WOULD BE PLAYED regardless of weather conditions inside the Metrodome where the temperature was always around 70 degrees, and gametimes was like clockwork during the 28 seasons played here.
