Here is an outstanding, hard to find, mint in original box, totally factory original fabulous with dress and original chemise, Simon Halbig 1009 Character Girl in excellent condition. She had never been undressed until I did so for the pictures as her chemise, slips and pantaloons were still stitched on her body. She has a gorgeous face, huge brown set eyes, original pate and mohair wig, wonderful original marked Handwerck body, factory original silk dress, original chemise, slips, pantaloons, socks, shoes and matching bonnet and she comes all nestled in her factory original box. Her factory original silk dress is fabulous but has some fraying on the skirt mostly on the right side and the silk ruffle hem is coming loose. The top and sleeves of the silk dress are wonderful with really no fraying. I also found when I undressed her she has her original factory original chemise, again that was never removed. I would touch nothing on her since she is so totally factory original and her silk dress is really fragile. She has been packed away for decades and comes from the original owner and is absolutely gorgeous. She is 18" tall and marked S 7 1/2 H 1009 DEP Germany and was made in the later 1800’s by the Simon Halbig Doll Factory. She has gorgeous smooth creamy, bisque with no chips, cracks or hairlines and her coloring is fantastic. She has huge almond shaped brown glass set eyes along with painted upper and lower lashes, 4 teeth and pierced ears with no chipping. She has her original pate and her original mohair is fabulous that is longer in back and has wonderful wispy bangs that frame her face perfectly. Her original wood jointed and composition body is in excellent condition and still retains the original finish and is marked in red on her butt Heinrick Handwerck Germany 2. There is some normal and her hands and fingers are perfect. I did restring her as she was really loose with original string so while I had her undressed I did string her. She is wearing her factory original silk dress, chemise, slips and pantaloons. Her silk dress is gorgeous even with the fraying and has cream color silk ribbons, bows and sash with lace trim on top and on the sleeves. It is tighter at the waist then flair's our beautifully with pleats and a wide ruffle around the bottom. The left side of the skirt as you can see is frayed and the silk ruffle on that side has come apart from the seam. It could be taken in and put back in place but I don't sew or mend. The top and right side of the skirt does not have much fraying and considering this dress is over 100 years old it's in remarkable condition in my opinion. I found her original factory chemise that is marvelous with lace round the neck, shoulders, down the front and around the hem. It's somewhat wrinkled and could stand to be washed and ironed but again I'll leave that to you. Her original slips and pantaloon are wonderful and were stitched at the waist so I sniped them and now have them pinned in place. Her original socks are super and her original shoes are excellent with original extensions around the ankles and buckles on the toes. The loop that attaches the extensions to the buttons on the shoes are torn but that can be fixed so they stay in place. Her original silk and lace bonnet is fabulous and covered in marvelous lace with the baby blue silk lining. Her original box is in great condition but does have some tearing at the seams and part of the top side is inside the box. It can be taped back in place but I'll leave that to you to fix. Here is old tissue inside but that is not original but gives her a wonderfully soft bed to rest in. She is one of the most fabulous factory original mint in box Simon Halbig I have ever seen and with with mothers day coming think was a splendid surprise she would be and a marvelous addition to any character collection. This outstanding mint in original box, totally factory original with silk dress and chemise, 20" Simon Halbig 1009 Character Girl should sell for well over $1800.00 due to her box and originality but my reserve is less don't her get away. Lucky winner pays $35.00 S/I and international would be more. Email any questions and thanks for looking.
