HERE I GO AGAIN!

Many of you already know who I am, for I’m still getting a lot of fantastic emails and support in reference to my last auction of Mike’s personal Dangerous Tour Jacket. My proximity to him at work developed into such a fabulous friendship over the time that it led into many personal, extraordinary accounts. Some of you are already familiar with a few, but that was only the tip of the iceberg. I have other stories so amazing, that when you read about them you will be able to learn a bit more about his real, true personality and confirm what you always thought: Michael was indeed a kind, warm and charismatic human being, with a fabulous sense of humor and a talent with no end.

To the thousands who experienced everything that transcended in my last auction, I ask you to please bear with me, for I have to repeat just a few facts here for those who will come across this listing for the first time and are not familiar with our wonderful collective past experience. Nevertheless, once you read the description of this newly listed item and the amazing story behind it, you will probably get a kick to learn some more about Mike’s fantastic personality.

~

Along with many other fans of Michael Jackson in the world, it is with sadness that I regret not being able to see him again, but it comforts me to know that he is now surrounded by light and peace. His children and family are always in my prayers, and he will never be forgotten. He left the world an amazing legacy of talent in his work for us to enjoy and remember him by.

I am a Television executive in Los Angeles who had the wonderful opportunity to work close with MJ during the leg of the Mexico City Dangerous World Tour for the entire time of the five Azteca Stadium concerts, which took place on October 29 & 31 and November 7, 9 & 11 in 1993.

I’m now able to offer his worldwide fans a few items that are related to him through this listing. I have so many cool stories to tell about him, but right now I hope that whoever reads this can bear with me about just one, relating to these particular items.

~

I was in charge of directing and producing all the concert feeds for his Television Special in Mexico City. Michael and I used to chat in his dressing room or private press room as often as it was possible. I was always busy running around all over the huge Stadium checking-up on all my crews and resolving technical issues before the shows. Mike was seldom alone during afternoons, going often to charitable events and later to the Stadium, where many lucky people with backstage passes lined-up hours before the concerts to have their pictures taken with him in a special area assigned for that purpose.

Still, once in a while we would coincide in a slower moment that would allow us a little time to chat before he would go off to his dressing room and it would all soon turn into a massive explosion of movement, excitement, screams, lights, dance and music.

I remember that day before our third concert on November 7th when I was walking through the security police lines into the tunnel near Michael’s press room with my best friend. She was born in Seattle, a talented US import by the important local TV Network to choreograph for the hottest musical groups in Mexico, and one of Mike’s biggest fans. She volunteered to be my personal assistant in order to be able to attend the concerts and watch Michel live, and of course, I agreed and took her everywhere with me. That was no easy task, I should say.

The press room entrance looked unusually empty of VIP fans. My friend had never been in that heavily guarded area before and with excitement she twisted my arm and dragged me towards the door for us to check if Michael was there. She peeked into the room and to her amazement she saw Michael looking up straight at her, smiling. My friend was always very funny and a natural firecracker, but this time she was petrified and became speechless with incredulity.

Mike said hi to her. She was still petrified, not a word could come out of her usual chatty mouth. Then he looked at me and started laughing. He asked me if she was going to be part of my surprise prank to him on that day. I had planned a really good joke for Michel that night and I explained that I was just on a break and simply passing by, but that my friend had insisted in checking to see if he had already arrived. He invited us into the room and asked the photographer to take his picture with my friend. Needless to say, by this time she was in the verge of passing out. She couldn’t believe what was happening and when she got the picture, her face looked in shock and her eyes were so wide open that they looked as if they were going to pop-out of their sockets. It was all too funny, and Mike was as usual, extremely warm and giving. I told him that just because of his fabulous gesture with my friend he was not going to keep him safe from our mutual daily pranks, to which he responded: “Good!”

Michael was dressed elegantly with a fabulous military jacket, a white t-shit under it and his signature black pants with white socks and black moccasins. He was sitting on the couch signing a stack of photographs, one by one. There were thick felt pens and color pencils with a drawing pad over the coffee table. We could see that he had been sketching some funny cartoons of people who worked in the tour, like his guitar player and his tour manager.

My friend noticed that the black ink of some of the felt pens had spilled over his fingers and that some of the signatures on the pictures were smeared. As a joke, I reprimanded Mike as if he had been a bad, messy child and that he should be careful not to get his clothes dirty. His reaction was immediate. With a big grin on his face and looking straight into my eyes, he slowly and intentionally ran his fingers heavily over his white t-shirt, wiping them over it. He left a big ink mark across the front of it and stared at me with a defiant smile across his face!

I couldn’t believe it! My jaw almost dropped!

I told him that what he had done was bad, really bad, and that he had to change immediately and wash his hands!

What came next was amazing. He took his jacket off and then his messed-up t-shirt and said “OK, done.

Now I need a clean one. Get me another one now, and I better really like it so I can mess that one too!”

By this time, Mike, my friend and I - along with the rest of the people in the room- were laughing so hard, that we had tears in our eyes.

We could not stop laughing and I wasn’t sure if it was tiredness or repressed work tension what was making us act so silly!

_“What???- I said. I’m not getting you another shirt. Now you’ll have to go around shirtless. I’m not getting you anything, you’re too BAD”.

-“Oh, yeah?” – He said.

-“YEAH” - I responded.

-“YOU go”. I said.

That’s when my friend intervened. She suggested that we go behind the Stadium’s seating area and buy a concert shirt from the vendors. I declined her suggestion but I could still not stop laughing, and neither could Mike.

Then my friend suggested for us three to go and get the shirt.

To my amazement, Michael agreed. He threw on a sweater and started walking out the door!

His security people stopped laughing and went into attack mode, but Mike asked them to relax and come along with us.

My friend, Michael and I started running under the tunnel laughing our heads off, followed closely by a group of armed men dressed in black. This was surreal!

By the time we got to the end of the tunnel we could see many concert goers already lining up by the vendor’s stores, and waiting for the seating areas to open.

Michael stood behind a wall by the tunnel entrance, concealed by his guards. He was yelling “Go, go!” at us, and we just kept running and laughing on our way to the clothing stand. I jumped to the front of the line as angry people yelled at me for cutting-in. I kept saying that it was an emergency, but my friend’s laughter was not helping the situation.

When I asked for the shirt, I realized that I had no cash on me to pay for it. I had left my purse back at the Production office. My friend didn’t have any money either.

We turned around and signaled Mike from the distance that we were broke.

He just shrugged his shoulders and with his hand indicated for us to still get it.

I gave him a squint eye angry look in return...

Then I realized that the walkie-talkies around my waist could be the solution. I called for any camera teams in the area to run and meet me at the clothing stand. When a few guys go there, I hit them for whatever money that had in their pockets, and I was finally able to buy the concert shirt!

I asked them to go back to filming the crowd and promised to pay them after the concert. My friend and I ran back to where Michael was hiding and the three of us ran back together into the tunnel towards the press room, laughing even harder, followed by more security guards and a couple of local police men that joined the race.

They had no idea what was going on!

By the time we got back to the press room we were out of breath and plummeted on the couch, but still could not stop laughing. My friend asked Mike if he was supposed to finish signing the stack of pictures, to which he agreed.

Michael put the new shirt on and with a smiling face, got his arms ready to start signing, as a concert pianist does.

We watch him sign all his pictures as we were answering his questions about my friend’s choreography work for the famous Latin bands in Mexico, and to our huge surprise, when he was all done with the signing, he did the most unexpected thing.

Michael took one of the thick black felt pens, he painted his fingers with it, and while looking at us with a big smile, HE SMEARED THEM OVER THE NEW SHIRT…AGAIN!!!

Ok, I got it. This was his prank of the day for me.

But I could not smile this time. I was too upset.

Then he asked me if he had been bad enough.

I consented and told him I had to go back to work, it was getting late and my walkie-talkie calls were starting to drive me nuts.

I acted as if I was angry, but he knew that I am just a sore looser.

He asked us to wait. He went into his dressing room and came back with his sweater on and the smeared new concert shirt in his hand. He placed it over the coffee table and circled his finger marks with a felt pen.

Then he wrote the words: “I’m bad, I’m bad, you know it”: and signed his initials MJ and he handed it to me.

I couldn’t believe it!

That was my friend, the Michael Jackson I LOVE!

Years go by and we often stay in touch.

Next, as if time didn’t exist, I find myself amongst a sea of hectic people, covering the event of his Memorial Service at the Staples Center on July 7, 2009.

What a bizarre and empty feeling. The echo of my own voice sounded distant as I was interviewed by a TV reporter very early that morning.

I walked as if in automatic pilot, and entered the building to attend the Service when the time came.

The penny didn’t drop then, this was too hard to believe. We had talked about all the excitement and preparation for his upcoming last tour just a few months before.

After the lovely ceremony I got close to where he was and I came out into the blinding sun light and reality, with 4 red roses from his casket in my hand.

Now, I decided that I won’t look back, as he once said to me. I’ll just remember our good times and give these things away for my own personal reasons based on a promise I made. I don’t care what monetary price or worth other people give to similar items; I'd just like them to be accessible to MJ's fans.

There is no other item like this in the world!

This is a very personal and unique gift representing his warmth as a friend and his fabulous sense of humor.

Offered here to a lucky Michael Jackson fan, foronly 7 days, with no reserve and with the lowest starting price so many can have a chance to get them, are the following items included:

  • The Mexico Dangerous concert shirt that Mike wore himself and gave to me: The official Dangerous world Tour in Mexico concert shirt only available to the concert goers at the Azteca Stadium, which I gave him and he passed back to me signed and dedicated. It is size 40 in the tag which I think is L. It is made of white cotton with short sleeves. It has been hanging in a closet all these years. It has never been used by anyone else except for the time that Michael wore it in Mexico, with a few yellow spots here and there. As the picture shows, it has an embroidered “Dangerous” tour logo of Michael’s eyes on the chest with the words “Mexico ‘93”. The back has a large print of the Michael Jackson Dangerous World Tour, Mexico ’93” and the Tour cities along each side.

  • An unused Local Crew All Access Concert Pass dated October 31, 1993 with the hand-written word Mexico and the Tour Manager and my initials of approval at the front. These were for my camera crews and this one was not used.

  • A dried Red Rose from around his casket the day of the Memorial.

For obvious reasons, I cannot accept returns and everything goes as is, so make sure to look at all the pictures first and ask questions ahead of time. My TV credits are verifiable at official Media sites. I took all the pictures myself. Hopefully these items will be kept together by a fan that will cherish them as much as I did. This time I have decided to post my picture from the Mexico concerts taken the day of our last show, because most of you already know about me and I can include a print in the box, if asked. I will include a numbered COA certificate with these items.

Just a little added note. Again, my intention is to offer these items to MJ's fans at the lowest possible price. Now I'm thinking that perhaps my collection may entice greedy & wealthy sellers to split & turn them around for a quick buck and I don't want that to happen. I’ll be checking all bidder's past purchases and sales. If I suspect that this is happening, then I will cancel those bids and I may just split the items myself and re-offer them individually for the lowest prices so several people can get the chance to select amongst them if they so wish, although I feel that for a true fan the rose or an item worn by him -- more so than a signature -- may be more important. I welcome all comments and suggestions. Thanks for reading this.

Hello again! I thank you all for your wonderful comments; it seems that we’ll be starting another cool blog in the Questions section. Please do remember to please contact me through the Shirt listing through the ask seller a question so that I can read your messages from wherever I am.  Sorry for the lapse in posting this, I have been working 18 hour days on a new project and I’ve had very little time to check messages, but I do enjoy reading the so much!

So, to answer your many questions, here is what happened next after the dirty fingers on shirt incident.

That night just before the show, I was walking by the Golden audience seating area, which was right in front of the stage. There I came across a group of people I knew from school and convinced them to make a little butt-space for my friend to sit with them (She’s also 5” tall).  My production tags allowed us unrestricted access, but because I was at work, there was no possible way I could remain by the front while the show was on, so I needed to find a place for her to stay put during the concert.

The Tour Production executive (BC) who my friend and I loved -- and I personally admire as a Production Guru -- was always on top of everything, making constant rounds all over the place during the shows. He was the supreme authority in the venue and made sure that everything ran smoothly.

There was a song in all of the shows where Michael would bring a lucky girl out of the audience up on the stage for a few moments, and sing to her. Mike would never be the one to pick her, production was in charge of doing that.

My friend was all hipped-up about our earlier dirty fingers shirt adventure with Mike, and was telling everybody around her about it. Because she was a professional show dance instructor and amazing dancer, she had memorized all of Michael’s choreography. Once the concert started, she was dancing away every step of each song and screaming her heart out to tears. This seemed funny to me, because she had an amazing job and was used to dealing with stars in a regular basis, but it was different with Michael. She was completely out of her mind about him. She loved his humanitarian work, his amazing singing talent since he was a kid – always asking people to listen carefully to his phrasing in the song “Ben” – and crazy about his dance technique and free-style.

BC started scanning around the audience to choose the girl to go up on stage with Michael for the next song, and I was told later that he spotted my friend as she was dancing away. He knew about our shirt adventure, but he didn’t know what my friend looked-like, or that the jumping bean was my friend. He sent a couple of security guards to get her, and she panicked when they pulled her away by her arms to the front and side of the stage.

She thought that she was being kicked-out because of her rowdiness and fought to free herself from the guards. She knew that she didn’t have a concert ticket and didn’t want to miss the concert. She started running away screaming and promising them that she would sit still for the rest of the concert, but the guys quickly caught up with her and took her to the side.

I cant’ begin to tell you how surprised I was when I saw her in my monitors, standing on the side of stage, being pushed towards Michael. She looked petrified again and could hardly walk towards him.

I called for production to find out what on earth she was doing there, I was in the middle of the show and could not move from my chair. When they told me she was the chosen girl for the song, I felt as if someone had poured a bucket of iced water over me. I feared that she was going to something unexpected, right there in front of 100,000 people, and I feared and felt responsible!

Michael walked towards her singing, and pulled her center stage from her hand. My friend was as stiff as a board, and could hardly move her feet. Once Michael continued with the song, I noticed that he was smiling. He had recognized her. Then what I feared, finally happened.

My friend was so taken by the moment, that all she could do was throw her arms and embrace Michael. She was clinching him in a tight embrace and looked like she was about to faint.

Mike kept trying to sing but couldn’t help laughing a bit in between lyrics.

My friend was muffling his microphone unintentionally because she was holding him so tight, that he could barely get it out of the way. The audience started screaming and laughing with delight. It was quite a scene and moment…! I was almost fainting in my chair as well!

Michael started walking towards the side, because it was time for her to exit, but she would not let go. The audience started reacting louder and clapping. Finally, she got the message that she had to go. She started walking away waving good-bye to Michael, but suddenly ran back and embraced him again.

I felt from my chair! I wanted to go on stage and kill her! The audience loved it, and 2 security guards went in and took her to the side. I couldn’t believe it!

I thought that I was going to be fired right there and then!

To my surprise, I heard laughter from the crew in my ear piece. They loved it and thought it was funny and great. I didn’t have to mention that she was my friend; they all knew her because they had seen her following me everywhere from day one, but all I wanted was to hide my head like an ostrich.

The rest of the show went without incident, but at the end of the concert when I saw Michael, he had a big grin on his face, pointed at me, and said: “Tonight’s joke was your best one, so far. If I was BAD, you were WORSE!” And then he laughed.

That night my friend and I took one of Mike’s brothers and his friends to dine in a trendy place in the city. Later we met a whole bunch of people from the show at my favorite hang-out, including BC, who never used to go out with the crew. We had a wonderful picture of the entire group to remember that moment, but I didn’t talk to my friend for hours, until I realized that destiny had granted her an amazing once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and that I was lucky to be there to share it.

Then I understood, and was extremely happy for her and for her experience…but mostly grateful to Michael for his big heart and understanding.

Isn’t that wonderful?

By the way, I never got to play the joke I had planned for Mike that night, after all…

On Nov-02-09 at 02:23:11 PST, seller added the following information:

Hello and thank you again for your wonderful messages!

Tonight I have a few moments to write, for I have to tell you about our unforgettable 16th Dangerous concert anniversary Halloween reunion.

At first, it was hard to recognize some of the faces I had not seen for years, especially because everyone was dressed as monsters. It was Halloween after all, and I should have imagined that they would all be wearing disguises, but it didn’t take me long to do it. There were lots of hugs, laughter and especially many remembrances of forgotten memories.

I went dressed as Mrs. Spock. I already have the hair style, so I only had to grow the pointy ears and wear the black and red pantsuit. My friend was immediately recognized by all of them and it didn’t take long for a couple of dancers to reenact a spoof of her stiff-as-a-board and embrace on-stage performance. It was simply hilarious!

One of them played Michael’s part running away and trying to free himself and his microphone (a soda bottle) from the embrace and the other one (another guy) just clinched him and tackled him down to the floor while screaming like a crazed female fan. It was just too funny to watch these two guy’s performance, who remembered it all too well. They received a standing ovation from all of us and my friend was laughing to tears. One of the singers imitated my reaction after Michael sent me up the toaster trap into the exploding jet pack test. That one didn’t seem too funny to me, but everyone still laughed.

Then my friend, three technicians and I imitated an exaggerated performance of the dancers during Smooth Criminal routine, falling all over the place and trying to catch up with the positions, choreography and steps. That one was very good, I should say…!

We all danced to Thriller and it looked simply awesome, although most of us could not remember the steps, but we were supposed to be zombies, so it didn’t matter. We all had a wonderful time talking and catching up, remembering our good times at the concerts and at my favorite hang-out in Mexico where we used to go after the shows.

I was told that many of them watched the Dangerous Concert Jacket’s auction and by now, all of them are watching this one. They remembered the dirty fingers on the t-shirt incident all too well and mentinoed that they like best are the words he wrote from BAD and especially the rose I'm including here as a one of a kind gift.

So...hello again from here, guys!

Towards the end of the night we all held hands and prayed for Michael during a moment of silence. Once I started crying, the rest followed suit and it took us quite a while to be able to stop. The good thing is that running make-up and mascara didn’t look too bad on monster’s faces.

It seems that we all read each other’s minds, because we arrived to the party with plenty of pictures of that time in Mexico. It was amazing! Someone gave me one as a gift where one of the dancers picked me up from the control room and carried me over his shoulder all the way into Michael’s dressing room where we were all supposed to have a meeting, but I was late because of unfinished work. I had forgotten that one! My butt is the only part of me you can see on that picture, and he is laughing his head off while running. It was to die for. I think that I will frame it for my office.

It was a wonderful night. Towards the end of the party (around 2 A.M.) we all decided to go and join the rest of the crazed people walking along Sunset Boulevard, and have dinner together. On our way there we drove by the gates of the peaceful Forest Lawn Cemetery and yelled out from our windows: “WE LOVE YOU MICHAEL…SEE YOU AT MEL’S DINER IN 10!”
