Here we have a Mid Century Modern Oak Lounge Upholstered Side Chair by Jack Van Der Molen for Jamestown Lounge Company! A fantastic Eames Era piece! This is by far the BEST made American Furniture I have ever seen. EXTREME attention to detail and Craftsmanship!
This line was known as American Casual and was an extremely important transition for Jamestown after WWII. They had been producing Fuedal Oak and British Oak traditional style furnishings since the late 1800’s right out of Jamestown NY. Molen was an integral part of the company, and eventually became on of the board of directors. His designs are very classic and have been compared to Jens Risom, Paul Laszlo, Renzo Rutili, and Billy Haines.

Overall condition is VERY GOOD! Original finishes. Expect average wear. Upholstery is relatively clean with only a few marks scattered about. Because of the pattern, you really have to search for them… See our detailed photos for condition as we always try to show the worst of any age related wear.

A Note on GREYHOUND GPX Shipping -
Greyhound Shipping most often Requires PICK UP at your nearest station.
Shipping times vary but anticipate 5-7days for East Coast and 7-10days for West Coast Delivery.
Many stations offer Home Delivery, many do not. Call 1-800-739-5020 to find out if your station delivers. It is best to setup home delivery the day it arrives, or there will be a delay.
Even with the inconvience of having to pickup an item from Greyhound MOST of our clients use them, as they are easy to deal with, timely, cost effective, and Handle items with care.
That being said Greyhound only offers a Maximum of $300. of Insurance per box. Additional insurance is available by Third Party means. Provide us with your phone number and the station will call you when your package arrives.
If your item ships by Greyhound and you fail to pick it up within 72 hours, storage fees will accrue at a rate of $2 per day thereafter. Storage fees are your responsibility.
If an item is shipped back to us we will store it for 30days. After which we will charge a storage fee of 1/3 the sale price per month.
FEDEX & UPS:
Although more convienent we find these carriers far too Abusive. The risk of breakage is HIGH. We DO NOT recommend this service. If you must have a piece delivered this way please contact us.
BLANKET WRAP:
This service will require a quote from our carrier. It is typically a White Glove service which means you will only have to be there for inspection. They will bring the piece in your home and set it up. Please contact us for an exact price as there are many factors including, stairs, level of assembly, etc. This is the MOST convient of all shipping options and effective.
The carrier will schedule a pickup from our warehouse. They will Blanket Wrap each piece of the item for safe shipment. Shipping times vary upon location, but East coast is typically 8-12 days, and West coast is 14-18. They typically come to our warehouse one time per week, this may lengthen delivery time.
LOCAL PICKUP:
Although we do not have a public show room, we always welcome Local Pickup. Please note that Florida buyers will have to pay applicable Florida Sales Tax.
INTERNATIONAL BUYERS:
We DO OFFER international shipping. Contact us for a shipping quote to your destination.
A NOTE ON ITEMS DAMAGED IN SHIPMENT:
MOST IMPORTANT! Keep ALL of the Packing Material. Without this, your Claim will be Denied instantly by all carriers!
We are NOT responsible for ANY damage that occurs once an item has left our facility. That being said we only Sell and Ship items which look fantastic and are free of "issues".
Any damages from shipping are the responsibility of the Buyer to claim and pursue. We also do not give refunds for items damaged in shipping. We will assist as much as we can in the claim process, but it is your responsibilty.
In most cases we can even assist with repair.
