If you have a MIDI sequencer and keyboard with a 'TO HOST' or 'TO PC' port, and a PC with a serial port you need this cable. Simply connect one end of the cable to your computer's serial port, and the other to your MIDI keyboard, load the Keyboard manufacturers driver and you're ready to start making music.

Typical Usage

  1. A MIDI Keyboard or MIDI Instrument equipped with a 'TO HOST' or 'TO PC' port.
  2. A PC equipped with a 9-pin serial port (COM port). NOTE: This port should not be used by any other device such as a Palm Pilot or Digital Camera.
  3. Current serial port TO HOST driver - which can usually be found on the website of your MIDI Keyboard or MIDI Instrument manufacturer ie Yamaha.
  4. Connect the TO HOST cable.
    1. Connect the 9-pin (DB-9) plug of the TO HOST cable to the 9-pin serial port (COM port) on the PC.
    2. Connect the MINI-DIN plug of the TO HOST cable to the 'TO HOST' port on the MIDI Keyboard or MIDI Instrument
