Up for auction is this handmade, hand carved original Jonah in the Whale set. Each piece of this set was made from hardwoods I salvaged fro antiques that could no longer be restored. This is my way of taking an old antique that would otherwise be trashed and giving it another 100 years of life.
The whale is made of mahogany wich comes from an old hardwood floor board. Jonah is made of maple wich comes from an antique pembroke table. The whale is roughly 1 1/2 inches long X 1/2 of an inch wide X 1/2 of an inch deep and has a hinged top. Just simply slide the top of the whale over to surprise everyone with tiny Jonah safe inside!!! Jonah standes 9/16 of an inch tall and has nice detail for his size as you can see in the picture of him standing on a quarter!
The bottom of the whale is signed by me, David T. Arber Jr. and is dated 2008. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
