This is a special DW Hard Satin finish, that makes this such a high quality kit.  Hard Satin finishes are applied using the same method as Collector's Series® Lacquer finishes. Rather than being buffed to a gloss, they are dulled using a special technique. The result is a low-lustre satin finish with the durability of lacquer.
