This is a 1940s two tone gold and sterling silver medal. It has never been worn. It has been in our family business inventory. It is new per say. The medal of Our Lady is shaped like a shield, with a leaf pattern going around the sides to meet flowers at the base of the medal below Marys feet. The leaf pattern is cut in bright sterling silver with the rest of the medal gold tone. Our Lady is standing with her arms out standing on the earth and a snake with the date 1836 on the bottom. The front reads "O Mary conceived without sin pray for us who have recourse to thee". On the back of the medal it has the M symbol of Mary with a cross, the 2 hearts of Mary and Jesus and the 12 stars. It is stamped sterling HMH. It measures 5/8 inch long and 1/2 inch wide. It is a nice size for a communion or confirmation gift. You do not find this quality and mixture or gold and silver material like this anymore. Please visit our store inventory as we also have a scapular medal of Jesus to match. A gold tone or silver tone stainless steel chain in 18 or 24 inch can be added to the medal for just $2.00. |
