Description
Sony Computer Entertainment and 989 Studios have not forgotten about PlayStation One owners: MLB 2005 arrives as the only baseball game for the platform. Like its big brother on the PS2, the PS One title is the only baseball game to offer strike zones proportional to individual hitters. Graphically, the game also received signifcant upgrades -- and all stadiums are designed with city specific details including haze, water effects, fireworks, and animated objects. MLB 2005 offers 78 Cooperstown legends, six old-time stadiums, and throwbacks galore.

The classic confrontation between the pitcher and batter comes of life in MLB 2005; With Total Control Pitching, you choose the pitch type, location and velocity when you bring it to the plate; Mix it up and keep hitters off balance; Total Control Hitting allows batters to choose between Contact and Power swing as well as the ability to guess the pitch type and location; Guess right, sit on your pitch and drill it; Guess wrong and you'll be swinging a wet noodle; Risk and reward is up to you and your ability; total control fielding is the only way to shut down the inning with the leather; Dive for balls in the gap, bare hand the dribbler down the line, gun the runner down from your knees, hit the cut-off man on the fly, climb the outfield wall to rob the homer-MLB 2005 gives the defensive weapons needed to get you out of the inning; Watch out because your opponent has total control running to take the extra lead off the bag, go from a run to a sprint and to slide head first, not to mention ability to crash into the catcher to knock the ball out.
