This Automatic Magic Case is from 1935. I know this only because of the results from my internet search...check out the ad below from Modern Mechanix May 1935 !!

The case is in it's original box, instruction pamphlet, a funny-somewhat defensive sheet to follow up the instruction pamphlet; I believe that even the tissue paper is original.

If this case and lighter had been used, any lighter fluid has long since evaporated and I doubt there is a flint in it. I haven't experimented with flint or fuel; I thought it best to leave it alone and let the buyer decide what they would like to do.

The case is in very good condition. The case measures 4 3/8" x 3 1/8" x 3/4". It has such a nice finish, mirror like as shows in one of the photos.
