It rare these days for me to see now work and say WOW! Levy's work does just that (for me anyway) and I'm sure you will enjoy viewing his work as much as I do. Today I'm listing some digital pigment photographs by Mexican photographer Moises Levy. Moises has been a repeated visitor to my area over the years. Each time he comes here I have purchased work from him for my collection. I have sold his images in my gallery, and now it's time to list some on eBay. His editions in this size are only 33, and sell quickly. Most of the photographs are from Mexico and the Californian coast and recently France. He has 100's to view at his web site, where you can also learn more about him. He was also featured in Oct. 2006 issue of "LensWork" magazine, # 66, same issue that featured John Sexton. Although I do enjoy selling a $10,000.00+ photograph from time to time, I also enjoy bringing new very affordable artist for you to enjoy. This image by Moises Levy has the look and feel of photographs that I have seen at much higher prices. Who says you have to pay big bucks for a great photograph? Born in Mexico City in 1963, Moises Levy is a lifelong resident there and works in the city as an established architect. His earliest interest in architecture and photography occurred on a trip to New York City at the age of 13, "I was fascinated with the buildings and the evening shadows of the city. About nine years ago he began to explore photography more deeply, with a broad interest in artistic composition, influences, history and styles. Levy appreciates the history of photography and states the he has learned from the works of Salgado, Weston, Bravo and Atget. I have tried for years to teach buyers that it's not what you pay for a photo, it's what pleases your eye, and I guarantee you photographs by Moises Levy are pleasing to the eye. Photo is in mint condition, mounted/matted to 16"x20" rag board, signed/edition just under the image. Free shipping/ins within the USA. If shipped within California please add 8.25% sales tax. |
