I have combined some of my favorite luxurious oils & essential vitamins to create this highly emollient, deep conditioning treatment for both skin & hair. Made with all natural ingredients: Monoi de Tahiti Tiare Oil, Coconut Oil, Japanese Camellia Oil, Cymbidium Orchid Extract,  Royal Jelly, Vitamin A (Beta Carotene), Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid/Rose Hip), & Vitamin E (D-Alpha Tocopherol).

What is ‘Monoi’?

'Monoï' (mah-noy) is an ancient Tahitian word meaning 'scented oil'. The secret of Monoi de Tahiti lies in the delicate 100% natural vegetal blend that is extracted from the rich Tahitian Tumu Ha'ari (Cocos Nucifera) coconut tree and from the local "Tiaré" (Gardenia Tahitensis) flowers. It is the result of enfleurage, the art of extracting active or aromatic ingredients by gently macerating flowers in refined coconut oil. Monoi has been used for centuries by “Vahines”, beautiful Tahitian women, to hydrate and protect their skin and to condition their hair.

Some Suggested Uses:

·       Apply after a shower or bath, Monoï softens and moisturizes skin giving it a natural, glowing sheen. Its hydrating properties are shown to be superior to those of other natural vegetal oils. Monoi helps to rehydrate the layers of the epidermis and to shield the skin against external damage. Its deep conditioning benefits are progressive and long-lasting.   

·       Use as an anti-aging skin treatment. A few drops deep-moisturize and re-hydrate instantly the driest skin. This rich, emollient moisturizing oil penetrates quickly into the skin and acts as a natural barrier against dehydration, which is one of the causes of wrinkles.

Use as a pre-shampoo hot oil treatment, Monoi helps repair and deep-condition dehydrated and damaged hair, helping to restore shine and bounce. Pour a small amount into the palm of your hand and massage into the hair. Shampoo out after 10 or 15 minutes. The oil will enter the hair and replace the natural oils, giving your hair natural body and sheen.

• Use as a scalp treatment. Natural anti-fungal qualities in the rich Tahitian coconut oil together with the antiseptic properties of Gardenia help to protect both skin and scalp effectively. Tests also show a slight anti-dandruff effect.

• Add a few drops to a hot, steamy bath to help you relax and keep your skin soft, glowing and fragrantly scented.

·       Apply before & after sunning or swimming, Monoi provides protection against the effects of sun, wind, salt water & chlorine.

Please note: Monoi oil may solidify at temperatures below 68 F (20 C). This is a natural process that occurs because Monoi contains no emulsifiers to keep it in a liquid state. Do NOT use a microwave oven to warm Monoi! Simply place the container in warm water to return it to a golden liquid form. Solidifying and warming will not affect the original properties of Monoi.

My formulation is less likely to solidify due to the addition of other emollient oils of camellia, orchid & aloe.

You may see some tiny black or white flakes appear in the liquid. This is normal, as they come from the flowers that the Monoi is extracted from during the manufacturing process. These can be strained out if desired.

Shelf Life: 1-2 years at room temperature.

Storage: Store in a cool dry place in sealed container away from the sunlight.
